The effect of a sports counseling program on psychological compatibility and learning some basic skills in basketball among mentally handicapped pupils who are integrated into the elementary stage

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the effect of a sports counseling program on psychological compatibility and to learn some basic skills in basketball among mentally handicapped students who are integrated into the primary stage
The sample was chosen from Sadat Elementary School (2019-2020 AD), and a sample of (16) male and female students was chosen by the deliberate method from the research community, and they were randomly divided into two equal groups, each group of (8) male and female students. The researcher used the experimental approach to suit the nature of the research using Two groups, one experimental and the other controlling, by following the pre and post measurements of the two groups. The most important results of the search were as follows: The sports counseling program positively affects the psychological compatibility of mentally handicapped pupils who are integrated in the elementary stage. Also, the sports counseling program has a positive effect on learning skills (catching and receiving the ball, dribbling, chest pass, and shooting) among mentally handicapped students who are integrated into the elementary stage.
