The Effect of Development the Aerobic Ability on Speed Endurance and some Physiological Variables for middle distance runners

Document Type : Original Article

Abstract

The aim of present study is to design a training programme for development the aerobic abilities and investigate its effect on speed-endurance and some physiological variables in middle distance runners, the researcher has been used the experiment design research method with pre and post tests for one experiment group of 10 students from the secondary third class of Zagazig secondary school. Based on survey of previous related studies, the researcher used tests to measure maximum speed, speed-endurance, heart rate, vital capacity, oxygen uptake and physical capacity. The researcher used non-parametric statistics to investigate the results of current study by Mann-Whitney U and Wilcoxon statistic tests. Statistic results of study were accepted by Alpha of 0.05. The results of current study showed that, improvement of aerobic abilities positively impacted the level of; speed-endurance, physiological variables and the records of race 800m and 1500m. Therefore, the researcher recommended that, aerobic abilities are important factors for enhancement of the performance of middle-distance competitors.
