Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of resistance training using a kettlebell on the balance of muscle strength and the effectiveness of some offensive skills for kumite players in the sport of karate. The researcher used an experimental design with two equal groups (experimental group - control group) using two pre-measurements. Due to its suitability to the nature of the research, the research sample was chosen intentionally from karate players (under 18 years old), and the sample size was (30) karate players registered with the Egyptian Karate Federation at the Al-Hewar Club and the Rose Island Club in Mansoura, and they were divided into (20) players to conduct the basic study, and (10) players were recruited to participate in conducting the exploratory study, and they are the distinguished group, as they are from the same research community, and another undistinguished group, lower in age and level, and from outside the research community. The most important conclusions were: The training program led using resistance exercises with the kettlebell. The application applied to the experimental group improved the balance of muscle strength in the muscles of the arms and legs and led to improving the effectiveness of some offensive skills to a greater degree than the control group.
 The traditional program also led to improving muscular strength, but to an unbalanced degree, and improving the effectiveness of some offensive skills in the control group by a lesser percentage than the experimental group. The most important recommendations were: Using the proposed
