Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of a rehabilitation program through playing on some of functional variables in order to develop the movement abilities of children with autism. The researcher used the experimental method by using the experimental design for one group with its procedures, due to its suitability to the nature of the research. The research included total of (36) children, with average age (6-9) years from North Star Academy. The sample of the study was selected by random method, and its number was (20) children. The exploratory study sample was selected from the same original research community and from outside the main research sample. The most important results indicated that the proposed rehabilitation program has a positive impact on some of functional variables to develop the movement abilities of children with autism.

The proposed program also contributed to develop the movement abilities (running 30 meters - running in place 30 seconds - running zigzag - throwing medical ball weighing 1 kg - wide jump - jumping on numbered circles - walking on a crossbar - bending the trunk forward from standing position paying attention and catching.
