Abstract

The research aims to know the influence of the mental rigidity exercises (the ability to encounter stress, self-confidence, focus of attention, rebounding speed, sports achievement motivation) to improve the serve skills of a junior tennis player. The researcher used the experimental methods to apply on a single group, using both the prior and post measurements to suit the research nature, on a sample of (25) players: (10) reconnaissance players and (15) basic sample of the research.
- We found out that there are statics differences between the prior and post measurements in the mental rigidity variables used on this research to the advantage of the post measurement. The results varied among (56,842:43,564). Also it became first after the focus of attention (56,842)and it became second after the self-confidence with a variable rate of (54,737), then it became third after the sports achievement motivation with a variable rate of(54,167) followed by (47,959)after confronting stress and variable rate of(43,564) after returning to normality. There are differences with statics reference between the prior and post measurements of the proficiency variables used on the research in favor of the post measurement and the rate of variability is (57,803:54,054)as the accuracy of the serve became the first then became second its strength. The researcher recommends more mental rigidity programs in all the sports and using other mental skills convenient to both the kind of the sports activity and the nature of the used sample.
