Abstract

The results of the study showed: Weight training in different proportions led to an increase in the strength of the anterior muscle of the right arm, with an average of17.125 kg, in the strength of the posterior muscle of the right arm, with an arithmetic average of 15,750 kg, in the strength of the front muscle of the left arm, with an average of 16,063kg and in the strength of the posterior muscle of the left arm, with an average arithmetic14.938 kg, which helped to improve the muscular balance between them. Weight training in different proportions of the front and back muscles of the arms helped in improving the level of performance of the support and push stage in the handspring on the vault in gymnastics for the study sample.
The most important recommendations were:
- The use of weight training exercises in different proportions for the front and back muscles of the arms according to the strength of each muscle to improve the muscle balance between them within the training programs for gymnasts.
- Diversity in the application of weight training exercises for the front and back muscles of the arms that work in the same direction of the movement path of the handspring on the vault device because of its effectiveness on technical performance.
- Taking care of making strength measurements during different training periods.
